Updated 5am EST - Major global financial markets will be closed today and monday with the exception of Japan and US. Commodities are closed as well. This can lead to both lower liquidity and unusual volatility. Caution is advised. The NIKKEI closed higher by +0.37%. US equity futures are relatively unchanged on very low liquidity. The major currencies are in a tight trading range and will likely remain so until upcoming data. US unemployment figures are due out at 8:30am EST. Forecasts are calling for the highest non-farm payrolls number in 3 years with average estimates at +185k. The unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 9.7%. Any positive jobs report is said to be directly related to the government hiring temporary workers to conduct the census. Market volatility is expected following the release.
